Motorcycle Laws In Vermont
Safety Helmet Required by law-reflectorization required (Each helmet shall have reflectorized surface or have securely affixed thereto reflectorized material on both the left and right side of such helmet. Such reflectorization must cover an area of at least four square inches on each side of the helmet.

Motorcycles operating two abreast in same lane 1115. - Operating motorcycles and mo-peds on roadways laned for traffic(d) No motorcycle or mo-ped may be operated in the same lane with, and along side of or closer than ten feet ahead of, or ten feet behind another motorcycle, mo-ped or other motor vehicle.
Lane Splitting SECTION 56-5-3640. Motorcycle entitled to full use of lane; riding two or more abreast; overtaking and passing; operation in other instances. [SC ST SEC 56-5-3640] b) The operator of a motorcycle or mo-ped shall not overtake and pass in the same lane occupied by the vehicle being overtaken. (c) No person shall operate a motorcycle or mo-ped between lanes of traffic or between adjacent lines or rows of vehicles.
